Working With Children Check

The Working with Children Check is a new checking system that will affect many adults who work or volunteer in child-related industries.  The new check is different from a police check and is continually monitored for new relevant offences and findings.  It's another way we're protecting Victoria's children.

In 2006 the Victorian Government acted on calls to introduce a checking system to protect children from physical and sexual abuse. As a result the Working with Children Check is required for people working (or volunteering) with children.

The Working With Children Check is different to a police check and is free for all volunteers at club level. If you are in a paid position (eg. Paid coach, State sporting association employee) there is a cost involved ($71.70).
