We have just reached the half way point of the season and are in 9th position just 5 points above the relegation zone. As a team we have let some close games slip when we have been in a winning position.  Our batting has been a weak point all season and we have scored over 200 only once or twice. As a team we have the potential to turn it around in the second half of the season as there is no team that I would say is better than us. On a personal note I haven’t been bowling as much as would of liked but have been feeling good the past month or so just not getting wickets as slips and keeper have been dropping catches but have still managed to take 15 wickets with my best performance coming against Sheffield Collegiate which is Joe Root and Michael Vaughan’s home club. With the weather we haven’t had a game called off for rain so have been very lucky that its rained during the week and not on a weekend.

Off the field I have doing some work with the local electrician (Carl Trickett) a couple of days a week which I have been really enjoying. Most of the work I have done with him has been helping with wiring brand new houses.  With accommodation I am pretty much living on my own as the house owner is always at his girlfriend’s so I don’t really see him unless we go somewhere for the day. I am staying a 200 metre walk from the cricket club and in the same street there are about four people that are always around cricket club. Have been told that my accommodation situation is the best any of the Aussie has had.

With travelling I spent a week in Portugal at the end of June which was amazing, met up with one of my mates from Australia who was travelling Europe. We spent four days down at Lagos on the beach and then went up to Lisbon for 2 days. I have also checked out the sights of Yorkshire.  I am heading up to Scotland for a week at the start of August to see a couple of mates and have a look around. A family here is planning on taking me to Skegness which is about 2 hours away on the beach.

So yes I absolutely love it here, everyone has been so friendly and has welcomed me into their homes and lives as if they had known me for years.
