Cricket clubs throughout the Central Highlands welcome female participation in their teams. All associations in the region have adopted the Cricket Australia recommendation to allow girls to play in competitions up to 2 years below their age as at 1 September (eg. 16 years old girls can play in under 14 competitions).

East Ballarat CC - 'Girls Only' team

In addition to girls playing in mixed teams, the East Ballarat CC have entered a 'girls only' team in the Ballarat Cricket Association Under 14 competition (Green Section) for the past three seasons. 

The girls enjoy the challenge of playing regular cricket and improving their skills in the Ballarat Junior Boys’ Competition.  The girls also value the friendship and support that an all-girls team provides.  Several of these girls will represent the Central Highlands Region in the upcoming Under 14 and Under 16 Commonwealth Bank State Championships - Female.
