Kenmac Shield

The Central Highlands Region conducts the senior inter-association competition each year the Kenmac Shield.

The Kenmac Shield is named after Ken MacKenzie, the long-time Sports Editor of the Ballarat Courier and also Manager of the Ballarat Cricket Association Melbourne Country Week team for 10 years.

The Kenmac Shield started in the late 1950's with the BCA Secretary and VCCL Zone representative Len Dunkley-Smith being a key instigator of the competiton as prior to this there was no organised competition amongst Associations in the region only regular matches amongst certain Associations.
